Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) chief spokesperson Pete Piringer shared on Tuesday night that a vehicle crash occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Knowles Avenue in Kensington.

Jamie McIntyre, former CNN military affairs and senior Pentagon correspondent, as well as former Washington Examiner senior writer for defense and national security, will speak about how the events on 9/11 and the aftermath ushered in a “post-truth” era in America. Jamie has written extensively on this topic and draws from a life-long career in journalism, including his time at the Pentagon on 9/11.

Event

The Triumph Trek at the Rio is the ultimate celebration of strength, recovery and hope — and everyone is invited.

On Sunday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation and Adventist HealthCare Home Care Services will gather at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg for an untimed walk-or-wheel around the accessible lakeside path. This is not a race. Scooters, wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and every pace are welcome, and no one finishes last.


Education

The Montgomery County Board of Education and Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) presented the 2025 Distinguished Service to Education Honors, recognizing the profound and lasting impact of individuals dedicated to enriching our school communities. During a special ceremony, 20 exceptional individuals were celebrated, with nine receiving awards. A video of the ceremony can be seen below.
