Newly announced, the festival will open on Friday evening, September 11, with a special tribute honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11. All three bands performing that evening include veterans and active-duty military members.
Be sure to visit Old Fireman’s BBQ Food Truck and meet a firefighter who was on-site at the Pentagon on that fateful day. We are offering special pricing for first responders and military.

For over 200 years, the Farmers’ Almanac has been predicting long-range weather forecasts using what they refer to as “a tried-and-true formula that adapts to the mysteries of nature and the ever-changing world in which we live.” So far this fall, we’ve shared summaries of the Old Farmer’s Almanac outlook and FOX 5’s winter outlook. There are actually two competing almanacs: the Farmers’ Almanac and the Old Farmer’s Almanac and both have been published for more than 200 years. Montgomery Parks has announced Veterans Day weekend operating hours and programs, and Open Parkways hours change due to the end of daylight saving time.
Niche has released its “2025 Best Public Elementary Schools” rankings based on “rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings, and the overall quality of the school district.” The top 25 public elementary schools in the state of Maryland, according to their list, can be seen below:
