The proposed improvements to Quince Orchard Boulevard under the project will include pavement and sidewalk reconstruction, the removal and replacement of existing trees, the installation of storm water management (SWM) infrastructure, and improvements to the storm drain network as well as other roadway related activities.
Additionally, it will include the design of a Shared Use Path along Quince Orchard Boulevard from Firstfield Drive and along Rabbitt Road from Quince Orchard Boulevard to the Youth Center. The design is currently coordinating with utilities as of April 2024.
Planet Fitness, known for its $10 basic gym membership, has announced it will be increasing the price to $15 a month for new members. Members with existing $10 memberships will see no change. The $10 membership rate has been in effect since 1998.
LeighAnn Sidone, D.N.P., RN, C.E.N.P., has been named president and chief operating officer of Suburban Hospital in Bethesda. Suburban Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, is a not-for-profit, acute-care, medical-surgical hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Sidone has served in the role of interim president since February 2024 while maintaining her position as vice president of nursing and chief nursing officer for Suburban Hospital. She also holds the position of associate chief nurse executive for practice for Johns Hopkins Health System. Dr. Sidone previously served as interim president for Suburban Hospital from September 2020 to April 2021.

The Montgomery County Police Department will hold a Public Safety Day event on Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 11am-6pm at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds (501 Perry Parkway) in Gaithersburg.
The American Cancer Society has relisted the property that was donated to the organization by former Washington Commanders owners Dan and Tanya Snyder just two months ago. The news of the listing was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, which noted that the original donation comes with tax benefits that would not come with donating the proceeds of the home sale. The Snyders will be able to deduct fair marker value of the property from their taxable income according to the market value of the home that was determined by a third-party appraiser. The appraised value has not been made available.
