Chick-fil-A in Germantown had plans to temporarily close its doors for approximately two weeks for renovations starting December 9th at 3pm, but those plans were pushed back during a December 6th meeting. The store will now remain open until renovations take place in Mid/January/February 2024.
When the renovations do take place, we are told “this beautification project will include removing our playground to make room for more dining space & expanding our interior drive thru operational space which will allow for better service to our guests!”
The last remaining Romano’s Macaroni Grill in the DMV is now expected to be replaced by Lazy Dog, according to a BizJournals report. Macaroni Grill, located at 5925 Kingstowne Towne Center in Fairfax County, is still operating and a closing date is unknown.
Members of the Montgomery County Board of Education re-elected Karla Silvestre to serve for a second term as president on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023. Lynne Harris was elected as vice president. Both officers will serve a one-year term. The election of officers occurs each year during the first business meeting of December. More below, per MCPS:

Per MCPD: “Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Patrol Services Bureau are investigating two pickpocketing cases that occurred in Bethesda. Officers have released photographs of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them. (more…)
