MCDOT has announced the completion of road treatment and plowing efforts following recent snowfall, with plans for continued monitoring and retreatment due to extreme cold. Residents are advised to stay cautious of icy conditions, clear sidewalks, check on neighbors, and report utility issues as needed.

An additional Cold Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS). The initial Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect from 7pm this evening until 10am tomorrow. The additional advisory goes into effect at 10pm on Tuesday until 10am Thursday.
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a hybrid public information meeting on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 6:30 p.m., to discuss Phase II and III of the Oak Drive (MD 27) sidewalk project in Damascus, providing project details, gathering public feedback, and addressing questions in-person at the Damascus Community Library and online via Zoom. Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown’s Securities Division joined a $17 million settlement with Edward D. Jones & Co. after a multi-state investigation revealed supervisory failures regarding customers’ transition from brokerage to advisory accounts, resulting in improper fees for mutual fund investments.
