For the first time this season the National Weather Service has our area at a “Slight” risk for a winter storm.
The potential winter weather could come our way Tuesday and Wednesday. Per the NWS, a slight risk means: “If threat materializes, may cause travel disruptions.”
Different models are showing different solutions, but the reason for the slight risk is because the GFS (American model) is showing potential for some light snow..more so for central and upper MoCo than SE MoCo.
Even if the threat materializes, it wouldn’t bring much snow to the area, but even a little bit of winter precipitation can affect travel.
We’ll keep an eye on this threat, as well as potential for next weekend, as the week goes on.
Below you’ll see the Day 3 and Day 4 Winter Storm threat maps by the NWS.
