At today’s County Council meeting, Council Vice President Kate Stewart and Councilmember Natali Fani-González will introduce a bill to establish a pilot program aimed at reducing excessive vehicular noise in Montgomery County. Under Bill 14-24, the Vehicle Noise Abatement Monitoring Pilot Program would require the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) to implement automated noise abatement monitoring systems, or “noise camera” devices, to help enforce existing state exhaust noise laws.

The Montgomery County Police Department has announced that a 30-year-old Silver Spring man was killed in a fatal collision that occurred on Saturday, July 27, 2024 on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the intersection of University Boulevard East and Langley Drive.

All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s mission to strengthen community-police relationships, support officers wellness, and enhance public safety initiatives across Montgomery County.

In addition to delicious chili, attendees can enjoy local craft beer from Lone Oak Brewery, family activities, and opportunities to meet and interact with Montgomery County police officers in a fun, relaxed setting.

Glenmont

Last October we let you know Dunkin’ will be taking over the space that was previously home to $2.49 Cleaners, at 12196 Georgia Ave. in Wheaton-Glenmont, on the same block as Trippy Tacos and Seafood in the Buff and near Popeyes. Now we know that a $500K permit has been granted for construction to begin on the space, per Maryland Newsletters.
