After 1,000 days of continuous planning, enrollment recently opened for the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine for the fall 2025 semester. The school, located in Hagerstown, is the first new medical school in Maryland in over 100 years.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will begin the Brink Road Bridge Project, which spans Seneca Creek, for resurfacing work beginning at 6 a.m. on Friday, July 25. The project is scheduled to take four days to complete, weather and operational conditions permitting.

Kisco Senior Living has announced the addition of The Preston of Rockville, a senior living community in Rockville, MD, to its portfolio as of June 23, 2025. Formerly The Seneca Rockville, the community was previously owned by Silverstone Senior Living and has now been acquired by Kisco for $44 million, according to Biz Journals.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) reports that during the ninth week of its Summer Traffic Task Force, officers conducted 107 traffic stops resulting in 17 DUI arrests and issued over 300 citations and warnings, with cumulative totals since the initiative began reaching 127 DUI arrests and more than 2,400 total enforcement actions.
