Sixty Vines, the restaurant brand known for its wine-on-tap system and vineyard-inspired dining, will officially open its first Maryland location on Monday, October 13th at 212 Ellington Boulevard in Downtown Crown, Gaithersburg (sneak peek video below). The restaurant will be located in the space previously occupied by Old Town Pour House.
Commas Food Hall, which opened last month on Level 3 of Ellsworth Place in Silver Spring, will hold a grand opening celebration on Saturday, September 27 from 11am-9pm and Sunday, September 28 from 12-6pm.. The 13,000-square-foot space features 10 food and beverage vendors offering global cuisines, with two stalls still available for future operators. The community is rallying to support the family of 29-year-old Akwalabeng “Asong” Fontava, who was shot and killed in his North Bethesda apartment on Sunday, September 21. A GoFundMe has been launched to assist with funeral expenses and honor his memory, describing him as a kindhearted, faith-driven young man whose life was taken far too soon. (more…)
The Upper Montgomery County Volunteer Fire Department is looking forward to their annual open house they are hosting on Sunday October 5th, from 12:00PM to 4:00PM.
Marathon Deli, a College Park institution beloved for its authentic Greek food and deli classics, is one step closer to expanding into Montgomery County. A representative from the College Park location shared that the restaurant hopes to open in about three weeks, likely in October.
