The Frederick County Health Department is warning residents about the presence of 5F-ADB, a dangerous and illegal synthetic cannabinoid also known as Spice or K2, found in products labeled “THC, Diazy La Ruse, Peufra The Tiger.” The drug can cause severe health effects or death, and the department urges anyone witnessing an overdose to administer Narcan and call 911 immediately. The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has announced its Memorial Day schedule for Monday, May 26, with most services operating on a Sunday or holiday schedule, some routes suspended, free parking at public garages and meters, and no MARC or most MTA Commuter Bus service.
Beautiful venue; great art, gifts and hand-crafted items; refreshments; and meet the award-winning painters, photographers, mixed media artists, ceramicists, fiber artists, and more – some 40 artists in all. It’s an extraordinary array of framed wall works, 3-d media including sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, and fiber pieces, and unframed prints.

Natalia Coronado-Mercer, a Richmond, Va., resident and sophomore at Appomattox Regional Governor’s School, was awarded first prize in the 2025 Gaithersburg Book Festival poetry contest for high school students for her poem “Chainlink Angels.” Two Montgomery County students also represented the area, winning third place and the “Fan Favorite” award.
