Governor Wes Moore announced a partnership with Work for America to help displaced federal workers connect with state and local government jobs through the Civic Match talent platform. As Maryland becomes Work for America’s first “Spotlight State,” the initiative will expand job opportunities, provide employment resources, and support federal workers transitioning into new public service roles.

In an inspiring initiative aimed at supporting educators and fostering community spirit, local teachers Krystal Putman and Rachel Savadow have launched a “Buy Nothing Group” specifically for Montgomery County teachers and their supporters. This group seeks to connect generous community members with teachers in need of classroom supplies, resources, and support.

With National Doctors’ Day coming up on March 30and a family physician’s average annual salary at around $225,000, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2025’s Best & Worst States for Doctors, to help pinpoint where doctors can find the most financial success and the best quality employment. Maryland came in ranked 44th overall.

Beyond MoCo

James Brunson, 41, and Ernest Hudson, 38, were sentenced for leading a violent drug trafficking organization in Baltimore, following a 16-month investigation by the Maryland Attorney General’s Organized Crime Unit. A total of 33 individuals were charged in connection with the organization, with several already sentenced for crimes related to drug distribution, firearms offenses, and participation in a criminal organization.
