It’s sure to be packed with rides, agricultural exhibits, fair food, and an incredible lineup of major musical talent that many MoCo residents would love to drive up for. Event

Join Us for StoryBox Comics Fair, a two-day festival celebrating local and independent comics authors!

Day 1 – Saturday, June 27th, 11-5pm @ DwightMess compound (805 Silver Spring Ave): Events are open to the public, admission is FREE. Featuring Special Guest Artists, gallery exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, a modeling session (suggested donation) and exhibitors, you can dig in to indie comics and also tour the compound, which features an extensive comics collection, a rare video collection, Risograph and screenprinting studios.


Maryland

With the Fourth of July approaching, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2025’s Most Patriotic States in America, with Maryland coming in ranked #8. Locally, in Montgomery County, various fireworks events have been announced for Independence Day weekend.

Bethesda

Westland Middle School, located at 5511 Massachusetts Ave. in Bethesda, will be closed on Monday, June 16, following significant damage caused by a downed tree. The removal of the tree has necessitated the closure of several classrooms, and operations for Tuesday have not yet been determined. A message went out to the Westland community on Sunday night:

Maryland

On Saturday, we participated in Lone Oak Brewery’s 5th birthday celebration, featuring food trucks Grubbing Hard BBQ and Jimmy’s Famous Seafood. Jimmy’s has previously been named the best Crabcake in the country by Food & Wine and ranked #1 in Maryland by us here at The MoCoShow. We asked 30 customers who ordered a crabcake or crabcake sandwich to rate it from 1 to 10.

Beyond MoCo

On June 4, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin joined contractors in Spotsylvania County to mark a construction milestone at the future $900 million Kalahari Resort, set to open in November 2026.
