Olney Theatre Center has announced three free community events this summer: a Juneteenth Celebration on June 19 featuring a live concert by Kanysha Williams, the Konvenience Festival on July 12 celebrating Korean culture, and SummerFest on July 27 with performances, workshops, and a drag showcase. Gaithersburg

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, County Council President Kate Stewart, other Councilmembers, and State and local officials joined together for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the 6th District Police Station on June 2. The new Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) station replaces an outdated facility with a new, sustainably designed, energy-efficient building. It is located at 222 Paramount Park Drive in Gaithersburg and serves the Gaithersburg and Montgomery Village communities. (more…)

Beyond MoCo

The Town of Ocean City has officially passed new beach regulations prohibiting tents and limiting canopy use on its beaches, effective immediately. This ordinance “aims to enhance safety, improve visibility, and ensure a more enjoyable experience for all beachgoers.”
