For Immediate Release: Tuesday, January 4, 2022

Gaithersburg, MD – Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Crime Suppression Task Force (CSTF) have arrested 24-year-old Allan Sesay for having a loaded 9mm Privately Made Firearm (PMF) commonly referred to as a “Ghost Gun” and 32-year-old Ahmed Conteh for having an outstanding arrest warrant.

On Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m., while conducting proactive enforcement of the CBD, the 3rd District Crime Suppression Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing multiple equipment violations.

CSTF officers approached the vehicle and made contact with the driver, 24-year-old Allan Sesay, as well as the passenger, 32-year-old Ahmed Conteh. CSTF officers immediately detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  When asked about the odor, Sesay admitted to having marijuana in the car.  Both Sesay and Conteh were asked to exit the vehicle.

As the CSTF searched the vehicle, Sesay admitted to having a gun inside the vehicle.  At the same time, the CSTF located a firearm under the driver’s seat.  The gun was determined to be a loaded 9mm Privately Made Firearm (PMF) commonly referred to as a “Ghost Gun.”  The Ghost Gun was loaded with a Glock magazine containing 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Marijuana was also located during the search of the car.

While on scene, Conteh was determined to have an outstanding extraditable warrant through Allegheny County, PA.

Sesay, a Hyattsville resident, was transported to the Central processing Unit (CPU) and charged for the recovered PMF. Sesay was released on $6,500 Unsecured Personal Bond.

Conteh, from Takoma Park, was transported to CPU by the CSTF for his outstanding warrant. Conteh is being held without bond until picked up by PA.
