MCPS

Update: MCPS will operate on a two hour delay on Tuesday, 12/2/25.

Montgomery County Public Schools says it is closely monitoring weather conditions as a mix of freezing rain, light snow, and rain is expected to move into the region late Monday night into Tuesday morning. In an update shared Monday evening, the school system noted that while early predictions call for slick conditions early in the day, the system currently expects to operate on a normal schedule for Tuesday, December 2.

With a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for parts of Maryland and Northern Virginia, including northwest Montgomery County, attention has shifted squarely to the morning commute and the possibility of school delays or closures across the region and FOX5 meteorologist Mike Thomas has provided a prediction.

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that 10 people have been indicted in three separate contraband-smuggling schemes at Jessup Correctional Institution in Anne Arundel County, following an investigation by the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Organized Crime Unit and the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.

The Montgomery County Council will meet on Dec. 2 to elect new Council officers, interview candidates for a temporary councilmember appointment, hold several public hearings, and continue its review of the University Boulevard Corridor Plan ahead of an expected straw vote.

Rockville

Drivers heading west on Park Road toward MD 355 will now spot a new splash of civic pride above them. On Monday, the City of Rockville announced the unveiling of a freshly painted “I ❤️ Rockville” message on the CSX bridge, a collaboration made possible by CSX, Manolis Painting Inc., and the city’s Department of Public Works. The artwork was installed earlier that morning and immediately became a standout visual for one of Rockville’s busiest corridors.
