With the cost of raising a child to age 18 exceeding $320,000, the personal-finance company WalletHub today released its report on the Best & Worst States to Raise a Family in 2026, to highlight the states that are affordable, safe, well-educated and enjoyable for families to live in. Maryland came in ranked 20th overall.

Many Marylanders have thought that Pizza Oven has been long gone, but that’s not true. Once a regional staple with multiple locations from Montgomery County all the way out to Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Pizza Oven never fully disappeared. Today, one location is still quietly serving in Riverdale, Maryland (Prince George’s County), carrying decades of history.
