Montgomery County Public Schools has officially moved the last day of school for students in the 2025-2026 school year to Thursday, June 25, following approval of calendar changes by the Board of Education this week. The changes were shared in the MCPS weekly message on Thursday evening.

Blackbird Health has expanded into Maryland with a new pediatric mental health clinic in Gaithersburg, bringing additional behavioral health resources to children, teens, young adults, and families throughout Montgomery County.

Located at 555 Quince Orchard Road, Suite 250, the clinic offers comprehensive pediatric mental health services, including ADHD and autism evaluations, neuropsychological testing, therapy, psychiatry, and medication management.

These will be an outdoor craft fair featuring local artisans and professional woodworkers, a chainsaw carving, woodworking and tool demonstrations by Festool, Montgomery Wood Turners and Carvers. Gaithersburg

Fish Taco has expanded the space for its upcoming Gaithersburg location, pushing the front wall closer to the street as construction continues ahead of a planned opening this spring.

Signage for the popular local restaurant went up last year at The Shops of Potomac Valley, located at 12121 Darnestown Road. A representative for the family owned business previously confirmed the Gaithersburg restaurant is targeting a spring opening.


Community

Minds in Motion Child Care, the largest Black owned child care business in Montgomery County, will host a free Black History Month celebration on Friday, February 20, from 7pm to 9pm at Watkins Mill High School in Montgomery Village. The community wide event will feature a headline performance by nationally acclaimed step troupe Step Afrika!, along with free dinner for all attendees.
