The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on July 14, 2025, at a 7-Eleven on Rollins Avenue in Rockville and has released surveillance images of two suspects, asking the public for assistance in identifying them.

On Wednesday, Governor Wes Moore hosted the 2025 Buy Local Cookout to kick off Maryland Buy Local Week, a statewide initiative encouraging residents to support local agriculture and seafood by incorporating Maryland-grown, produced, or harvested items into their meals from July 17 to 27. The event featured local chefs, food tastings, and highlighted the economic impact of Maryland’s agricultural and seafood industries.
A vehicle fire on Prince Philip Drive in Olney resulted in damage to multiple vehicles, but fortunately left no one injured. The incident was quickly brought under control by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS).
D1 Seafood Buffet & Bar (19961 Century Boulevard) in Germantown closed permanently this past spring. The space was previously home to Sushi Legend Cajun Seafood and Bar until December 2023, and before that, The Greene Turtle until 2020. The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred late last night in Germantown. Officers from the 5th District responded to a call at approximately 10:37 pm Wednesday night regarding a shooting in the 20600 block of Shadyside Way.
