Teams from 25 Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) high schools took the floor for the 37th Annual Cheerleading Competition on October 25 at Montgomery Blair High School. Squads were evaluated on the level of difficulty, technique, and execution of their routines, performances that featured everything from synchronized choreography to high-flying stunts and crowd-pumping spirit. Update: Rockville Police Investigation Determines Needles in Halloween Candy Were Placed by Child
Two children in Rockville reportedly received gummy bears with sewing needles embedded inside while trick-or-treating, according to the Rockville City Police Department, which is actively investigating. Authorities are urging parents to carefully inspect Halloween candy and report any suspicious or tampered items by calling the department’s non-emergency line at 240-314-8900. (more…)
