A List of Restaurant Closures in MoCo Since March 17th, 2020
Though this isn’t a list of closures caused by the pandemic, since there is no way to determine every reason behind a closure, 17% of restaurants (over 110,000) have closed since the time it started, according to Business Insider.
Below we’ve compiled a list of restaurant/bar closings in Montgomery County since March 17th. Please comment to let us know of any we may have missed.

I’ve messaged it to you all via Facebook a couple times but JDS Shanghai in Gaithersburg is also closed for a few months now; lease signs up and JDS signage pulled off the building.
Were Bar Louis and Gordon Biersch in that time frame of closures as well?
Both prior to March 17th
Tyber BierHaus – Bethesda
These are technically the closing dates but readers should not infer that all are from COVID. At least a couple of these were struggling before all this. I am trying to support local but did not start going back to awful restaurants I had already given up on. There are also some good ones I am bummed to see on the list, though.
the fall of Restaurants as we know it!
New fortune in Gaithersburg closed a few weeks ago
Thai Taste by Kob in Wheaton -the phone message said closed for renovations. Not sure how long it has been that way, but it was definitely not open when we stopped by a few weeks ago.
This one (Thai Taste) hurts!! I went by on Sept 12 and again last week (Nov 10). Closed both times.
